After two really bad weeks of Miami Vice (don’t even mention the wedding), we’re back on track with a pretty good episode… With a catch. This week we learn all about how Castillo knows how to read Yakuza tattoos and has more knowledge about gangs from Japan than you can ever fathom. Surprisingly, there’s very little actual police work in this episode and is more of a story about a burgeoning friendship for Castillo.
The only problem is we were promised a ninja shootout, we kept building to a ninja shootout and never got the ninja shootout. John is upset there wasn’t a sword wielding Castillo stalking the grounds of the Tannaka compound. Dominic has a sudden epiphany about what the ladies actually have to do for their job. Melissa is happy Caitlin is only in the episode for a few minutes.
Its an episode of Vice getting its footing and a great episode of your Miami Vice podcast.
