Hi pals, coming up on this weeks episode of Go With The Heat a convicted rapist is released from jail leaving Trudy on edge in the episode Hell Hath No Fury…. On This Week in Vice we’ll be taking a look back when this episode of Miami Vice aired, from March 7 to March 13, 1988, when Miami Vice was king.
Its a real stretch to find something in the news every week, sometimes there just isn’t anything that interesting happening in pop culture. With nothing else to talk about I’ll mention on March 11 the Bank of England withdrew the £1 note and stopped recognizing it as legal tender. Replaced by the £1 coin, I guess its newsworthy?
I can assure you, this is not a joke and you are not intentionally being Rick-Rolled. Moving George Michael off the top spot on the Hot 100 is Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. Astley’s most popular and recognizable song, Never Gonna Give You Up was a worldwide phenomenon, even without the internet. From the album Whenever You Need Somebody, the song reached number one in 25 countries and is a song that gets stuck in your head for months.
So we’re finally at the last week Good Morning, Vietnam will be at number one at the box office, so its the last time we’ll go to the archives for at least 2 more weeks. Written by Dick Wolfe and starring Rob Lowe, Meg Tilly and Kim Cattrall is the mystery-thriller Masquerade. The film follows a yachting captain who isn’t what anyone thinks he is as this movie twists and turns into a classic mystery.
And that’s everything you need to know that was happening when Miami Vice was king. Be sure to join us on Go With The Heat at gowiththeheat.com. I’d love to hear from you! Email the show email@example.com or follow us on Twitter @gowiththeheat. That’s all for this week, bye pals.
